Residents of Bentsen Palm’s many communities know that January is a wonderful time of the year in South Texas.  The weather is mild and sunny for a great time to get outside and enjoy the area activities.  To help you make plans for getting the most out of your calendar, we’ve shared just some of the top events taking place in January 2016 in Mission, TX.

Saturday, January 2, 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. – Resolution Race at Mission’s Pepsi Sports Park

Start the New Year on the right foot with a short race.  Entry fee is $25.

Sunday, January 10, 7:30 a.m. – 21st Annual Mission Community Health Fair

This event is to promote healthy living for Mission area residents. There will be free screenings for cholesterol, blood pressure, vision, body mass index and much more.

Saturday, January 23, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Boys and Girls Club of Mission’s 1st Annual Skeet Shoot Fundraiser

Enjoy some shooting fun for a good cause. Register to shoot alone or with a team. Participants must bring their own guns, ammo and protective eye gear.

Saturday, January 30, 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. – Mission Parks and Recreation TX Citrus Fiesta Superhero 5k Run/Walk

Dress as your favorite superhero and enjoy the fun with a 5k run or walk to support mission parks and recreation.


Saturday, January 30, 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. – TX Citrus Fiesta Fun Fair

Food vendors, arts and crafts, entertainment and more at this all day fun fair great for the whole family.  It’s free admission at the gate.

Saturday, January 30, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. – TX Citrus Fiesta Parade of Oranges

Celebrating the Citrus Fiesta this fun parade starts at FM 495 and runs to 4th Street.
