Discover the Exciting World of Birds – Spring is on its way and so are the birds. Take the Bentsen Bird Walk every Wednesday and Sunday in March, 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at Bentsen Park and see several south Texas specialties such as Altamira Oriole, Green Jay, Plain Chachalaca and Great Kiskadee. And Join Erik Bruhnke at Quinta Mazatlan every
Saturday in March from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. as he reveals and simplifies the exciting world of bird identification through the advance birding workshop. Each day will focus on a different group of birds: 3/5 Warblers. 3/12 Raptors, 3/19 Gulls and 3/26 Pelagic birds.
Rio Grande Valley Ping Pong Championship – Saturday, March 19, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Open to all ages. Test your ping pong skills at the Mission Recreation Center on March 19 and see if you can leave with first prize of $500 or 2nd prize of $200 in your age group. To learn more visit the City of Mission, Texas website.

Explore Bentsen State Park after dark as naturalists guide you on a unique nighttime nature walk in search of owls, coyotes, glowing scorpions, bats, giant toads and more – all while being serenaded by the creatures of the night.
