It’s leap year and residents of the many Bentsen Palm communities will get an extra day to enjoy the beautiful South Texas weather and all of the fun Mission, TX events taking place this February! To help you make plans for getting the most of your calendar, we’ve shared just some of the top events taking place in February 2016 in and around Mission, TX and McAllen homes for sale.
February 2-3, 9:30AM – 4:00PM -The Winter Texans’ Snowbird Extravaganza takes place at the McAllen Convention Center, 700 Convention Center Boulevard, McAllen, Texas. The event features comedic and musical acts including, John McDermott, Bowser and Blue, Jimmy Flynn, Michelle Wright, Sean Emery and Tom Leadbeater.
February 5, 12, 19, 26, 10:00AM – 11:00AM – Take a History of Quinta Mazatlan Tour and learn about the historic adobe mansion built in the 1930’s. And as you walk the trails learn the story of the Native Americans and their stewardship of the land, the families of the mansion, and about the World Birding Center and its dedication to the restoration of the land. The park is located at 600 Sunset Drive, McAllen, Texas.
February 5, 7:00PM – Ballet Folklorico South Texas College presents Tradiciones 2016. Spend an evening enjoying traditional Mexican folk dancing. This event takes place at the McAllen Civic Center & Auditorium, 1300 South Tenth Street, McAllen, TX.
Now Through February 6 – Mission Quilt Exhibition takes place at the Mission Historical Museum and on February 5, 2:00PM – 4:00PM, the Mission Quilt Show AwardsReception.
February 12-14 –Mega Winter Texan Fiesta sponsored by the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce kicks off on February 12 with a 6 person Texas scramble on the Shary Municipal Golf Course. Friday – Sunday the fiesta is host to a Mexican Artist Market at the Mission Historical Museum that will feature artisans and musicians throughout Mexico. Saturday afternoon will also be filled with great food from local vendors, musical entertainment and a car show plus a complimentary BBQ meal for those that pick up their meal tickets in advance at the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce.
