Hike and Bike Across South Texas – Explore the river valley ecosystem riding or hiking the 10 miles at the Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, or start with the five-mile paved Mission Hike & Bike trail. You can also head out on an adventure and hike the more than 12-miles of nature trails in Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge; explore the canopy walk and tree tower or for a bird’s eye take the nature tram that provides tours through the park.

Gone Fishing – Anglers has plenty of options to catch the big one, from rivers and lakes to deep sea fishing. There are a number of places to fish near Bentsen Palm homes in Mission, TX, including Bentsen Lake, Sardinas Resacas and Fireman’s Lake in McAllen, TX. Port Isabel the longest fishing pier in Texas, Pirate’s Landing, and if you are up for a more adventurous deep sea fishing expedition head to Port Mansfield, rated one of the top 10 fishing destinations in the world. Falcon Lake State Park in western Starr County is also a popular spot for bass fishing.
