Add These Fun Rio Grande Valley Events to Your Holiday Season Calendar

The holiday season will soon be here and the calendar full of parties, gatherings, and other activities.  But before you fill up your schedule, be sure to make time to enjoy some of the fun filled events happening in and around the Rio Grande Valley this November and December.  You’ll find great entertainment for the whole family just a few minutes from the Bentsen Palm new home community.


November 18 – Valley Symphony Orchestra A Touch of Frost

The ever-popular holiday favorite A Touch of Frost – VSO Concert III will be held at the UTRGV Performing Arts Complex. Bring the whole family and enjoy the best in traditional holiday music featuring the Valley Symphony Chorale. Concert begins at 8 PM. 1201 W University, Edinburg, TX


November 19 – Europa Cuisine & Entertainment Grand Opening

Europa Cuisine & Entertainment, McAllen’s first state-of-the-art dining and entertainment center, is hosting its grand opening celebration. Bring the entire family out for this fun free event, locally-grown, globally inspired cuisine, top-of-the-line bowling, arcade games, VIP lounges, party rooms, sports viewing and more! December 1 – 22 – Gingerbread House Workshops at IMAS

The popular Gingerbread Workshop is back at International Museum of Art and Science (IMAS). Spend time with your little ones this holiday season decorating miniature gingerbread houses with IMAS’s fun collection of craft supplies and candy. December 3 – McAllen Holiday Parade 2016

La Plaza Mall Presents McAllen’s biggest and brightest event of the holiday season and the largest illuminated holiday parade in Texas. This fun filled family event features dozens of illuminated and professional decorated floats, giant helium balloons, live performances and Christmas in the Park and more. The event starts at 6:00 pm in McAllen Veterans Memorial Stadium, 2001 North Bicentennial Blvd., McAllen, TX.  Visit http://www.mcallenholidayparade.com/ for ticket information.

December 3 – 4 – The Nutcracker

See the holiday classic ballet in its 44th season performed by the Rio Grande Valley Ballet at the McAllen Performing Arts Center at 7:00pm On Saturday, December 3 or 2:00pm on Sunday, December 4.  801 Convention Center Blvd, McAllen, TX http://www.mcallenconventioncenter.net/event/rgv-ballets-the-nutcracker/

December 6 – Tony Bennett

The legendary crooner now in his 90th year comes to McAllen on December 6 to share his passion for the Great American Songbook.  The performance is at 8:00 pm at the McAllen Performing Arts Center.

December 10 – Christmas Shopping Spree

Come give back to the community and shop more than 35 local vendors at the McAllen Public Library Christmas Shopping Spree. Please bring an unwrapped toy and support the library in reaching its goal of 300 new unwrapped toys for the US Marine Corps Toys For Tots Foundation of the RGV. Come take pictures with Santa Claus too! 11:00 am – 4:00 pm, McAllen Public Library, 4001 N. 23rd St.
