Fun Events in McAllen, Texas Winter Texans Must Know About

Welcome Back, Winter Texans who have traveled far and wide to spend time in their new home in Mission, TX.
We want to make sure that you are “in the know” about fun upcoming events in the McAllen TX/Mission TX area so we’ve put together a list of upcoming events for you to consider during your stay with us!
Dec. 11: The UTRGV School of Music will present its Holiday Concert and Carols at the UTRGV Performing Arts Complex, located at 1201 W. University Dr. in Edinburg. The performance begins at 5 p.m. General admission is $5 and tickets can be purchased at tickets.vendini.com
Dec. 13: The UTRGV School of Music presents Steven & Misa Mead, Euphorium at 7 p.m. at the UTRGV Performing Arts Complex, located at 1201 W. University Dr. in Edinburg. Steven and Misa Mead will perform a virtuosic concert. The concert will feature brass music. The event is free and open to the public.
Dec. 14: The City of Palmview will host its Posada Navidena from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Palmview Parks & Recreation, located at 406 W. Veterans Blvd. in Palmview. The event will include food, music, dance, and fun for the whole family.
Dec.14: Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro and Klughardt’s beautiful Woodwind Quintet music at Quinta Mazatlan on Thursday, December 14th at 6:00 pm.
Dec.15: Welcome Back Winter Texans Party. Discover Mission and Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a “Welcome Back” party. All Winter Texans are invited to join the fun from 11am-2pm for a fun mid-day of entertainment, tourist attraction information, discounted food from Ace’s BBQ and Jason’s Deli and more! Bring your lawn chairs and don’t forget your cowboy boots and hats!
Dec. 16: McAllen Convention Center will hold Movie in the Park beginning at 6:30 p.m. featuring “The Polar Express.” Bring your blankets and chairs and hot cocoa. Admission is free.
Dec. 16: City of Mission and Hands in Art Studio present a Winter Wonderland Festival from 4 to 10 p.m. at Leo Pena Placita Park in Mission. There is no admission cost for this event, which will include a night of music, handmade crafts, and local food.
Dec. 16 & 17: First United Methodist Church of La Feria will host its Live Nativity on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 16-17, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The church parking lot transforms into the town of Bethlehem. The Live Nativity is free and open to the public. FUMC- La Feria is located at 331 S. Main St. in La Feria. For more information or to volunteer, call (956) 245-5742 or (956) 797-1393.
